Hope it's okay for me to still use this for Basal's improvements with training and behavior. He is seriously like a different bird today. He's much more active and curious. I've had him out every night. He more or less hangs out on his cage top so I have been putting a few toys there. For now I have been shutting the cage door because he would immediately prefer to go back inside. He has let me take him out of the cage on my finger, with only a little reluctance. While on his cage top tonight he touched the bell and leather strip of a toy and climbed all over his cage sides. I don't think this was him trying to find a way back in for the most part because he just seemed to be going from place to place. He allowed me to walk him through the house, too. When he went back in for his egg and veggies I did notice he went directly to the mirror. I have a little homework to do while he eats so I took it out, as well as the mirrored back of his favorite perch feeder. He is still using that perch for the egg and veggies so that mirror was probably no problem. I'm going to put the other mirror back in tomorrow when I get home so I can watch him and see if it was just newfound interest or obsession. I hope this doesn't make him too lonely for the night if it was obsession (not very long obsession). He has been more actively going around his cage and even nibbled on the paper string to a foraging box toy. Sorry, but this is so exciting for me.
