So sorry for your loss it's incredibly sad to find them like that as well. We used to have a budgie called Charlie and he was only with us a few weeks, we found him dead at the bottom of his cage too, he must've been poorly from the start. Thinking of you xx

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Snowy. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. They leave us much too soon. Although is life was short, it was filled with love. I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi folks, i am just wondering little snowy's flight feathers at the end of his wings and his tail went brown a few weeks before he died, as the feathers need a blood flow i was wondering if that could have shown an underlying problem, thanks , the other two boys are cheering up now.

The blood stops flowing to the feathers before they are fully developed. A blood feather is a pin feather, but a pin feather is not necessarily a blood feather. So the brown is unlikely to have been blood. If that doesn't make sense, read Wiki's version here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin_feather

Thanks for all of the replies and yes i get what you mean about the feathers, i suppose i am looking for an answer to losing snowy that i more than likely will never find, once again many thanks it's great to know like minded people that know what i am going through.
