We've been doing well over the last couple of days with no hard biting for a week. Criswell sat on my hand and ate seeds this morning but he got a bit excited just now while sitting on his stick just outside his cage. He trotted along the stick and came outside himself rather than me taking him out and then he started biting the knuckle of my thumb over and over. He didn't take much notice of the ahah noise and I using my other hand to bop him on the beak but that didn't help either. He stopped after about 10 bites and sat on his stick looking at me and then started preening. He's been such a good bird lately so I hope this was just a blip and over excitement.

I think so I've had my hand in my cage with him a few times since the biting incident and he hasn't tried to bite me. He's a complicated wee bird but I'm sure we'll get there in the end.

I did everything people have said and the little madam still nips. She might still nip, but she still knows you are the head of the flock; that is the most important thing. Do nothing and she would be. criswell, it very much sounds as though Criswell did get a little too ..... ummmm ....... stimulated and that can happen quite easily. As you say, he is a complicated little character but you and he are doing so well together.
