You can see her left foot Hezz which is the one she uses more. It's the only time she stands upright, when she is at an angle like that, either on her ladder or on some ones chest. Can't figure out why though. She climbs up using her beak.

I'm afraid there is no further improvement to report. We are trying to get her to accept us as not being a threat. She scuttles away every time we go near her cage, I feel she needs us as friends rather than something to fear as we are going to be her only companions due to her disability. I am still doing the physio but spending more time just letting her sit with us. It's hard because she tries to hide away and is still biting a lot. I don't wish any bird ill but if I could find another bird with a similar problem she could have some company. She plays with the limited toys I am able to provide for her. It's limited because she can only play on the floor and she can easily get caught up in things so it's hard to find a variety that are suitable, also floor space is limited. She loves looking at herself in mirrors so has a couple. I would like to find her a "cage" that has a large floor area. It doesn't need to be a bird cage as she doesn't need the hight but things like hamster cages are not big enough.

Starlingqueen, you have a heart of gold. Ditto will figure that out. She is a smart cookie. Hugs to you both.

It takes a special kind of person to do what you are doing. Does the looking after Ditto help your son at all? Maybe one day she will stop the biting and settle in with you. We can only hope.

I know this sounds weird but what about a cat litter box bottom? Depending, it could be bigger than what she has, and still easy clean up ans higher sides.

I was thinking of something along the lines of hamster, or rabbit cages. There do seem to be some bigger ones of those. Or does she actually need any top on it? What about those large flat storage containers, without the lid, of course. Edit. Oops, reread that; you have already checked out hamster cages ......... rabbits?

What a lovely little story, and a delightful little bird who, due to the love and care of his owners has a good quality of life, despite his disability. Very sad, bud very heart warming at the same time.

Yes, I've seen that vid on my quest to find a "cure" for ditto. It is inspiring and very sweet and also shows how this kind of paralysis could have occurred.
