Must be a 'hen' thing, Pickle runs about on the floor too! No, not a henny thing, not in my house, anyway. My Blue was the first of my floor birds and the others have all taken up the cause, except for Smudge, probably. The few times she went down to the floor, she didn't seem very comfortable/confident. With Bluey, I would have to send up the shout "budgie on the floor" for anyone coming down the hallway because invariably he would be just around the corner when someone came stomping through! He did lose a tail feather or two in the early days when we were all still learning budgie-ways, particularly the art of looking to the floor.

Pickle only runs about on the floor of the cage, none of my birds run around on the house floor, they prefer to be higher up. I don't encourage them to run on the floor anyway, if they land there by accident.

Small progress today. I was sat talking to her and she flew and landed on the cage bars right next to my face, she stayed there long enough for me to be confident it wasn't a navigational mistake She is eating and drinking in front of me too and also investigated the big pot I put in as a bath with some herbs. It's lovely to note the progress, by about this time Douglas was stepping up and letting me carry him around, Bo is just a discerning little lady and wants to make sure I am up to her standards I reckon
