It is a bit too soon skysmum. She lay another Saturday night and one before .... only a day after I started with this - that one was probably already being formed, but was disappointed to see the one on Sat. I spoke to the vet this morning about her "condition" but he wasn't really sure how long it might take for the eggs to harden up. We both didn't know whether the calcium would need to be absorbed into her body and then used for the egg, or having it in her system ie digestive and blood would be enough - if the calcium can be pulled from her blood or digestive system, then she should respond very quickly, but otherwise it could be weeks.

She has a real production line going doesn't she love her . As you say i think its going to take a while to build up, meanwhile lets hope that being apart from lover boy may start to have an impact

She does at that. Misty is very determined to make the most of any amount of time they have together. I had been able to leave them all out first thing when the fresh grass hit the 'plate', as they were too intent on eating, but he couldn't resist yesterday, so got bundled up rather unceremoniously and plonked back into the cage! So far so good, though, so keep fingers crossed that that little interlude wasn't enough to kick off her production line again, if it had actually taken a break. The little madam certainly has a nip on her; she wasn't terribly impressed with being held on tightly to, although this morning's went much more smoothly. I certainly have to appreciate how good Smudge is at being dosed.

Oh, wouldn't that make things so much easier??? Damn me, I forgot about Misty and his determination this morning and let them both out first thing. Five minutes later ........ I literally plucked him off her and plonked him back into the cage. But so far, so good, on the Mango front, fingers crossed. Nothing since last weekend, and I might be deluding myself, but I think her poops might be getting smaller ............. She was always a bit random with the eggs, so we are not out of the woods yet, but will keep my fingers crossed.

It certainly is a full time job when you have multiple budgies Hezz. You have my sympathies and I hope it all gets better soon for you all.

Good about her Poop's, it took Freddy's poops around three to four weeks to get back to normal once i removed Chilli. Even though she was too old to lay eggs she was constantly in breeding condition bless her .

So was I, skysmum. He is the cause of all the problems. Well, there was a very large eggy-kind of poo overnight, but so far no egg since last weekend. When I plucked Misty off, Mango came too ........ they were definitely joined at the hip, to mix my metaphors.

Mango did drop an egg over the weekend ...... it didn't look much like an egg by the time I saw it, so the extra calcium isn't helping her eggs, yet.
