Hi there. Early this morning a budgie landed on me whilst in the back garden. He has barely left my shoulder since! He is very friendly and is obviously somebodies well loved pet. I am in the B24 area of Birmingham. I know it is a long shot but i thought i would give this a try. So if anyone has lost a little fellow recently then do let me know. Failing that then is there anyone in the local area who would like an addition to their collection? Thanks

Hi tomb24 and thanks for trying to find the right person for this little one. Sounds like he landed on the right person. Maybe you've thought about this as well but how about an ad in local newsagents etc. Local radio too? Pet shops and vets might be good places to contact as well.

Poor little guy, really kind of you to come on the forum to try and find it's owner. Please let us know the outcome.

Hi folks. I shall put a card in the local newsagents. A friend has also publicised Bob on Facebook for me.
I also have a bird rescue friend that i have provisionally contacted. Although she mostly works with pigeons she does have a lot of birdy contacts. I'm waiting for her reply.
He will be looked after one way or the other that's for sure.
Thanks again.

You could also post it on this site. www.parrotalert.com/You are so kind doing all this to find the owner. I like to think someone like you found my budgie when I was a kid, and took care of him so thank you for your kindness.

Oh guys don't do that to me! I was already starting to think how comfortable he seemed on my shoulder I shall read the stories in a minute. For now though, my friend has taken him on for a few days whilst i look for an owner. If i don't find one then my girlfriends mom is very keen on him and has kept budgies in the past. I shall post on parrotalert too, thanks for the link.

Just a quick update. It seems that Bob is actually Bobbie although there is still a bit of a debate going on between two friends. The good news is that one of them has to be right At the moment i am siding with Bobbie being female. I have been in touch with local vets and left my number should an owner come forward. There are cards in a couple of local shops and i am checking social media as best i can. The Parrotalert site proved beyond me i'm afraid, i'm a bit of a technophobe! Sorry Mintysowner, Hampshire is a little far. I'm sure you will find Sky a friend very soon.

Hats off to you, tomb24. I do hope you are able to reunite budgie with his/her owner; it sounds like a bird who would be very attached to the owner and vice versa. But in the event that doesn't happen, I am happy you are able to provide him with a great home, even if it isn't with you.

Hello again all. Just to let you know that Bobbie officially moved in yesterday. She is a very welcome addition and has made herself very much at home already. Here's to many hours of trying to shepherd her back into her cage. She is an illusive little madam but actually made her own way in this evening. I get the feeling that is going to be a rarity though!
