Fantastic news, now the fun begins. I used to have to chase Jo but now she's a good girl and goes in on her own. You will have so much fun with her and brilliant she feels at home with you. So pleased. You will have to post a picture. Welcome Bobbie.

I am sorry you were not able to find her family, but at least she has another loving home. I hate the thought that there is someone out there missing her like crazy, but better to have found you than be some cat's next meal. A photo would be nice.

So glad that you have given Bobbie a new home tomb24, it's a pity you couldn't reunite her with her previous owner but that's not through lack of trying. We have a bud that will not go back into his cage to bed of his own free will and usually have to resort to catching him unawares and putting him back.Try using a spare perch to carry her back to the cage,it does sometimes work for us. Do keep in touch and give us regular updates on Bobbies progress.

I am also sad that you could not find the owner but also happy that you are looking after Bobbie My buds are mostly good at bedtime.. It's important to have a routine, especially with nine birds. So if I do everything int he same order each night, they will usually go in on their own. But if I change just one thing, they push their luck and I'll generally have to wait for Custard (it's always him as he's the only one I can't seem to stick train!) to decide it's bed time.

Hello Everyone. I was trying to remember how long i had had Bobbie and then remembered i had posted on this site. Hasn't 4 years gone by quickly, flew by you could say! Anyway, the reason i was wondering is because i had reason to take Bobbie to the vet today. She is very well and has been nothing but a joy for the last 4 years. She has however developed what the vet described as a lipoma or is it lypoma on her back end. It isn't troubling her at the moment and the vet suggested leaving well alone. I do know that surgery on the little ones is dangerous. The decision to keep her was a very good one so thanks to those who encouraged me. I'm sure Bobbie would like to thank you too I shall update as there is news. Thanks again. Tom.

Nice to hear that Bobbie has been a joy and doing well over the past 4 years, but sorry about the lipoma. They are generally not a big issue, but do indicate a fatty liver issue. You might like to try adding some alcohol-free milk thistle extract to her water to help her liver cope better. A few of us on this forum have, or have had to work with this problem, and find the milk thistle to be of help. I use Nature's Answer but not sure where you can source it from in the UK.

It's lovely that you gave Bobbie a home, and that the lipoma isn't troubling her.

Hello again all.
Thanks for the replies and suggestion about the milk thistle extract. Unfortunately the lipoma has grown alarmingly quickly and is now dragging along the floor when she is on the ground.
The vet suggested that the time had come to make a choice about a week ago. As Bobbie is so well in herself generally i have decided to let her have an operation in the hope that she can get through it. I know it is very risky and that the odds aren't great but it is that or the other option and i feel she deserves a chance.
Her op is booked in for tomorrow morning and im not looking forward to it. Tidying her out today was hard as im sure you can imagine.
Good luck Bobbie. I shall check in tomorrow with news.
Tom.
