I use Firefox and Chrome Browsers - Firefox because the text shows up nice and large on my laptop for my failing vision and Chrome for my alternative Browser. Rather a lot of the time I cannot log in here on Firefox - it just keeps asking for my name and password and saying an "Oops .." message and it goes back to normal mode saying I can log in. At times I often get the same on Chrome and at other times BOTH of them do it at the same time. I got so fed up of trying to log in that I ended up not bothering. Anyhow, it curtails my times when I can respond so ... sorry ... I feel so unsociable and like I am forsaking my 'homeland' .. I do come here every day and love you all

Hello lupin which browser did you use to log in today? I can only assume it's about your cookies. Do you make sure that you click the box to stay logged in? M

Hello folks. Thanks for the response Today I could only get in using Chrome Marianne, also I have never seen anywhere obvious to click to stay logged in Told you vision was rubbish these days, which is also my excuse for not knowing where to empty browser cashes Will try and see about that later

Oh Marianne, you do know your stuff. In this case I wonder if you are putting the correct password in, it's quite easy to transcribe a couple of letters. To stay logged in on here, and if you get the same gigantic boxes that I do, then there is a rather small box you need to tick. It is located below the box for your login name and to the left of it. I'll just check on that.

I just logged out and back in and yes there is a small box but it doesn't indicate what it's for. I hope that is of help.

Ah thank you OP Chrome is behaving and staying logged in - Thank you , never spotted that little box. As regards Firefox - I have been through a procedure to clear cache but maybe didn't do it properly. Will investigate. What I will say is that when I press for login, the box with my username is already filled in and the box for my password is completed with the appropriate number of dots for the password. I have accepted the pre-filled-in stuff but it just give an "Oops" message and goes back to main page where I can choose Login or Register. I also have deleted the pre-filled-in stuff and entered them afresh but it just does the same and goes back to main page where I can Login or Register. Silly thing! I will try emptying cache again later Unless it is the case that Proboards doesn't like Firefox or Firefox is a bit flakey?

Well I use Firefox quite often without any problems. I honestly don't know why it should misbehave for you. If you clear the password box and re-enter the correct password it should accept it and save the newly entered password. When you empty the password box make sure there is nothing left in it, I have a feeling there could be something that isn't showing right away. I quite often enter characters wrongly these days and when it's a password it can be frustrating.

The boxes have been well and truly emptied and recompleted many, many, many times and definitely correctly over a very long period. I have persevered for such a time in the hope I can use it as Firefox is best for my eyesight. A few weeks ago it started working properly but didn't last long before it started furnishing completed username and password again. There again, Chrome has times when it does it too and recently suddenly came back as if nothing had happened. Maybe I will buy a new laptop I will bite hubby's ear I reckon

I usually use Firefox, Fran and don't have a problem, but I know how frustrating it is when you know you have added the right password and it doesn't get accepted; haven't had that with the forum though. Hope you get things cleared up soon; it is always lovely to have you on.
