Here is the latest photograph of Cagney and JoJo's babies. The large chick near the front is actually an egg laid by Mildred which I found in the bottom of her cage after I removed the nest box. I wasn't sure that it would be fertile but I thought rather than just throw it out, I'd give it a chance, so I'm glad I did!
There are still 3 eggs to hatch and all three are fertile by the looks. All the chicks are being fed, and dad is doing his bit rather well.

Just for you mintysowner Mum and dad are doing absolutely fine, clearly employing cheap labour to keep the 2 remaining eggs warm There were 3 eggs but one was way overdue so I threw that one, just 2 left, but one is several days overdue and the other should've come yesterday.

OMG! I feel like a proud parent! (Can't take any credit though - all down to you, Cagney & Jojo ) can't believe how much they've grown even after just a few days! wonder if the other two will hatch? Is it unusual for them to be late hatching or can just sometimes happen? Thank you Daz

Hi mintysowner.
One more has hatched, but due to the time difference between this and the last one I have had to foster the eggs out to Mildred. So ironically, she is looking after Cagney's latest, while Cagney is looking after Mildred's first. I'll get some more photos tonight. 18 days is the usual incubation period, but it can be longer, nothing is certain

Two more photos of the chicks. The grey one at the back is Mildred's. The yellow feathered one at the front actually appears to have a red eye, so this should be interesting!

I cannot believe how quickly they grow and change!!!! Thank you again Daz. I'll take them all, LOL. what does a red eye mean?? Oh bless Mildred, they've swapped babies so pleased another has hatched - it's amazing.
