Hello all. Just wondering if anyone has the Liberta Oregon cage? If so, any thoughts on it? libertauk.co.uk/bird_cages-oregon__sh2020_.htmlI am considering changing my cage set up but have a headache trying to work out what would be best. It doesn't help that you can't go to a store & actually look at them!

I had a cage similar to that for my Conure. The reason I got rid of it was because of the mess. There is no form of guard around the bottom to stop the mess from coming out and the bottom is shallow so not much room for it to go. It might be different with buds as their seed is smaller.

Yes, good point. The montana & ferplast I have now both have deep bottoms. I think I could probably put some kind of guard around the bottom section of the liberta...

It looks similar to the "Hamberley" cage I have for my 2 sweetpea.

I love it, i put newspaper onto the bottom tray underneath the wire base and get very little mess I have looked at the Hamberley as I know it is popular here! The main thing that puts me off is that apart from the main door, there are only 2 other small doors on the sides right at the top which seem pretty useless. The liberta has little doors on the front so I could change seed etc., without opening the big door. The liberta is also slightly smaller which appeals to me as I am short! There is another flight cage that is similar but has 2 front doors. I suspect that may make chasing Bezukhov around the cage difficult especially if he goes up high & then goes low.... I have also considered the Montana Madeira I, but again, think the small front door will cause problems. It wouldn't take long for Bezukhov to find a spot I can't reach!

I have the one with two door and wouldn't be without them. Makes cleaning much easier - I think with the other with only the one door I would not be able to reach the bottom of the cage at the back to wipe over, as I wipe over both inside and out. I usually leave the top door open and the bottom closed, but the bottom is very handy for as before cleaning and paper changing.

I have now seen the liberta oregon in the flesh! A pet shop about 40 mins away just got it in stock & had one on display. It is actually quite nice! It's not ideal, but then no cage is ideal, but I think it would work. It was handy to open the main door & simulate chasing B around the cage (don't know what the other customers thought ).
