Has everybody stopped reading Got at our Christmas Fayre yesterday and already finished reading. Buster is a rescue cross breed adopted by Roy Hattersley and this book is Busters everyday point of view of living with a politician. A very easy read. A good understanding of how dog's think by a human being (and a politician at that!) Buster's Diaries by Roy Hattersley

Got my daughter a book for Christmas but decided I best read it first to make sure it was ok It's called : Born To Run by Michael Morpurgo for kids of all ages. My daughter has a greyhound and this book is about a greyhound and his adventures. I read it in a less than a day, some sad bits but a lovely story.

The Butterfly Lion
By Michael Morpurgo
I had recently read this to my children at school, aged 7-8. I actually had to pause a few seconds to stop myself from tearing up. My children loved it and when I would take moments to look at their faces, they were engrossed!

''born to run '' again another one by one of my faves michael morpurgo! having had a greyhound it really reached me once you read his books you cant put them down. I will say what the ''blurb'' I hope that makes sense forgive me if I got that word mixed up its not too familiar to me in english yet! says, When Patrick saves a litter of greyhound puppies from the canal, he can’t bear to hand them all over to the RSPCA. He pleads with his parents: couldn’t he just keep one of them? Patrick christens his new puppy Best Mate, and that’s what he becomes. Then one day Best Mate is kidnapped by a greyhound trainer, and begins a new life as a champion race dog. But what will happen when he can’t run any more? its beautiful but really sad, as with all his stories, gripping and harrowing yet also comforting, an amazing author who I would recommend to everyone of every age

I might add this book to a couple of sections, just because it does deserve to be there. I have only just started, but already have had a ..... humph ...... tear ..... or two .... it's called Penguin Bloom, but Penguin isn't a penguin, she is a magpie. By Cameron Bloom and Bradley Greive.
It has been described as "the magpie that saved a family" ............................
