The Chronicles of Narnia C.J. Lewis
Fantasy books for all ages, also made into films with huge appeal. Children entering a magical wonder world of talking animals and mythical beasts. They are given the task of saving Narnia from evil and restoring it to it's rightful line when they meet with Aslan the Lion King! (not the same one as in the film the Lion King!)

I freaking love fantasy so here we go. Assassin's apprentice (The farseer trilogy) Robin Hobb My favourite fantasy books of all time - I love books where you really get to know the characters and Robin Hobb seems to excel at that. Basically about an illegitimate son of a prince who becomes a King's assassin. The name of the wind (Kingkiller Chronicle) Patrick Rothfuss Excellent series. Main character goes to University to learn about magical stuff and also happens to be a master lute player. Impossible to put these books down. The blade itself (First Law trilogy) Joe Abercrombie Really great writing, quite dark in places... and very funny in others. A Shadow on the glass (View from the mirror) Ian Irvine These are some of the first fantasy books I ever read - very complicated storyline and rather ridiculously long but I still love them.
