My favourite genre!
Malazan Book of the Fallen (10 book series) Steven Erikson One of the best, most complicated, infuriating yet amazing series of books I have read. Its a very complex world of magic and war. Very hard to get into but if you do then you will be hooked. Thats all I am saying.
Tolkien - Lord of the Rings and Hobbit No need for explanation I think.
George RR Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones books) A must read for anyone who enjoys the TV version. The books are so much better.
Jim Butcher - The Dresden Files Another world of magic and Demons. Set in the modern day and follows a 'wizard', gang crime, detectives and the magic world of vampires, werewolves and demons. Its quite funny and light reading.
Wheel of Time Robert Jordan A 14 book series in a fantasy world set in the past and future about a man who will save or destroy the world.

Titles: The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, The Lady of the Lake, Season of Storms Author: Andrzej Sapkowski The various adventures of the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Often amusing, a bit confusing at times on the first read, but quite a complex and enjoyable story.
