Here we go again........ My mother home on Friday - 999 call on Sunday as she collapsed and I couldn't bring her around. The wireless home phone cut out as the battery had run flat, went to grab my old mobile when the house phone landline went. 999 services called me back then transferred to my mobile. In between whiles me holding my mother's head up to keep her airways open. Gave key-safe number to phone operator so the ambulance cew could get in. Two ambulances arrived very very speedily along with 4 crew members. Then...... my sister rolled up. Not helpful... but we ignored the fuss and shouting. She simply can't cope and was more concerned about telling everyone how frightened she is that she might be the one having to cope on her own. Fat chance. My mother is now back in our main hospital - another infection. A double one chest and UTI. No wonder she was so tired and reticent to sit up, get up and clamber out of bed as she usually does with a bit of help. Back to square 1. Wearing is not the adjective. I now have a stinking cold and have avoided the hospital ward until today. I did go over by bus on Sunday when my mother was in A&E but felt lousy. My daughter insisted we go home in a taxi as the stent below my kidney was painful. Roll on March 6th. I am hoping life will have improved by then and I can make use of my bus pass that is available from that date. Sorry about the usual catalogue of woes... I am looking forward to typing a long section all about "This time it all went well!" Meanwhile..... the birds enjoyed little bowls of hard-boiled egg today. It was great to see them tucking in once they had all returned to the indoor flight instead of flapping about all around me in the aviary shed.

What a time you are having Learner. Sorry if that's an understatement. It sounds like your mum is in the best place at the moment. Watch out if that stent is playing up. I know of two people that have ignored the discomfort and paid for not doing something about it. Take care of yourself.

All the very best of wishes from me, as well; you certainly deserve a bit of good news and positivity in your life right now. I sincerely hope your dear old mum improves rapidly, although as we age everything takes longer, get rid of your cold, and as OP says, don't ignore the stent. Take care of yourself, please. As for your sister ......... best to just ignore that one.

Thank you for your kind words... they do make a difference My mother seems ok. Antibiotics working I'm told and she is far more with-it. Had a natter on the phone with her today - sounded good. I've been at home sleeping round the clock - feel much improved. A very rare week-end off. I couldn't take the sore-throat, sniffs and thumping head into the hospital. Trying to stay positive. Pain from the stent reduced and no bleeding for several days so here's hoping. We will see what the future has in store when we get there I guess. In the meantime: the budgies are fine although they thought they were stopping out late the other night perhaps because it was a little warmer. I had to do a bit of arm waving and insisting: "In! Go on in!" It worked... that an the baby-leaf spinach waiting for them inside

Dirty little stop-outs! The budgies, I mean. Glad Mum seems much better, and you too. Take it easy, please.

I've been in for 2nd op... but was sent home again.. infection identified at pre-op but no one had told me I need to have words my GP! Now booked in again for next Thursday.. 7 days after the last effort. Budgies bouncing with health.. wanting to know why the extension hascome to a complete standstill!!! It's all been a bit if a painful whirlwind lately. Hope everything is going well for everyone else. Take care.

I am so sorry, completely missed this thread. Poor you and your mum. I hope your infraction clears so you can have your stent. What a horrible time
At least the buds are not causing anything, that's good
As in other threads, makes you wonder at times, why a catalogue of not good luck happens
