Im going to say a boy but he/she is very young, maybe a bit too young to tell at the moment. A clearer pic of the cere would be better taken in daylight, beautiful bud

Thanks for your replys. I will get a better picture tomorrow. Zazu does have very small white circles around his/her 'nostrils' I'm hoping for a boy as I have heard they are easier to tame and a little more friendlier, not sure if this is true or not.

Probably boy is my initial reaction. I do wish people would not malign, and put people off, getting hens. Hens have so much character .....

I definitely love the tiny bones of him/her regardless of zazus gender. I did a lot of research obviously before I brought him and it kept coming back to girls are a little more difficult to train. Either way my baby is definitely worth the extra time, attention and love regardless if he/she 'needs' it or not. If you havent guessed I'm totally smitten with him/her. Hehe

I'm going to guess Girl judging by the latest photo but she/he really is quite young to tell.
An adorable bird whatever the Gender.
Contrary to popular belief, it depends on the bird itself and the relationship you have with him/her as regards to training.
Girls can talk too, just in case you thought they could not.

Talking would be a definite bonus but I don't mind if he or she isn't a talker.Sorry a little off subject but zazu seems to be really confident little tiny. When I took him out the box yesterday he basically hopped on my hand while I was opening the box flaps. He had been doing somer sults, hanging upside down and singing straight away. Would I be OK to just pop my hand into the cage now (not touch him) or shall I wait the 3 days for him/her to settle? X

I would say yes give it a go but slowly as the little bud seems a bit more confident Normally you should let them settle but as long as he is not showing any type of fear then take the opportunity. You might want to go in with a little piece of millet to make the whole process even more rewarding!

So this happened! I put my had into the cage and left it there, he flew straight to it and perched on My hand, I held my hand with zazu sat on it for a while and thought I'd try my luck to slowly bring him out the cage, he didt move a muscle and was climbing all over me. He sat on my shoulder for a good 5 mins! Is that normal for a budgie i'v had less than 24hrs?

I would say with budgies there is no normal. They all have their own character which tends to start with how the breeder handled them. If the budgie has been in a pet shop environment with a lot of birds and the taken to a house with no others then certain traits do show. Your Zazu looks quite young so has not had time to learn about fear. I would say the breeder has really looked after his chicks. Take all the advantage you can with him. So for Zazu it is normal.

He/She is the double of my boy Ben. They are fantastic little creatures, great times ahead for you both.
