Mrvica5, I am so sad to read this thread and that Pixie did not make it, I am so sorry for your loss You tried your very best. Remember the good times before Pixie was ill. She will now be flying free and have no pain or vomiting. God bless her x

I am so sorry that Pixie was not able to overcome whatever it was that was causing her to vomit. I know you must be with a heavy heart, knowing that Pixie was alone at the time, and not at home with you, but you were trying to help her; I am sure she realized that.

The result from Pixie's stool sample PCR for Avian Gastric Yeast came back positive yesterday so she died from Avian Gastric Yeast. She was receiving treatment in the last week and a half of her life for AGY but I guess it was just too late to save her

I am so sorry. I know I have already said that. At least you know now what you were dealing with, and forgive me my shocking memory, but if you have other budgies, it probably is wise to get them checked out as well. It can be one of those things that lies dormant for ages in some, can not show symptoms in others and others, like Pixie can succumb after a short illness. Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed, who knows, this thread might just help another little budgie in the future. If possible, mrvica5, have a Happy Christmas. xx
