I think hes doing well, hes getting bigger but I can see black bits in his crop?:/ could be the bits in the egg food, not sure if this is normal. Is it possible dads feeding him, dads still being over protective, still on two minds whether to remove him for good this time. Hes being a great dad 90% of the time, but as iv said before,if hes in the nest box or on the perch outside, he attacks her. How likely is it she will raise them on her own fine? Again any feedback greatly appreciated.

Baby looks fine!! Little black seeds is normal for maiden hens. You need to stop checking on them all the time,as this will stress mum! Only check in the morning and once on a night time. tap on the lid so the hen knows you are opening the lid. She is doing ok the hen may not feed the newly hatched chick for up to 24hours!!! Sometimes if a chick hatched in the morning and not feed by late on the night I'll top them up with budgie milk off a teaspoon.

I hope all is still going well with your little family, it really is better to let them get on with things, the hen will tell him off if he is cramping her style. Unless there is a real danger to her or the baby's let nature take its course, they know what they are doing

Looks wonderful to me! Wait until next hatch, #1 baby will be HUGE next to #2 plus the very last hatch will get lost like a needle in a haystack. . Feel free to watch my live cams in budgie nest box and see how these babies are taken care of with the whole world watching! So hopefully he'll behave him self, anymore and i will remove for good. Good news anyway, 2 chicks .

That's great, im glad things are starting to settle down, so you should have three bub's then?, that's a lovely size clutch Was settling!!! Iv removed joey for good! This morning I noticed dora out the nest box for about 15 minutes, I didn't see why she went but i had a feeling someone was behind it :/, so as walked over she tried to go back in the nest box, when joey was attacking her again and not allowing her in. So I opened the nest box and shued him out. After closing the slat, Dora got in first, joey followed. I heard dora warning him to back off in side so I opened it and he was trying to attack again, feathers in his mouth. So I shued him out again, and I was trying to remove him he was attacking my hand he never does this he usually trys to get away, he was just trying to get back to the nest box and striking at my hand. I caught him in the end, and now hes in with my other males, he keeps digging in the seed pot, like he thinks he can dig his way out.I think he's stressing but im not chancing dora or the babies. Apart from that the babies are growing by the day and dora seems more tolerant of me, a bit thankful iv removed him. I feed her some damp egg food on a spoon in the nest box today. I seen her out once eating seed. So fingers crossed she will realise hes not coming back.

What a drama. Seems like it's for the best though.
