Hello everyone! I hope it's ok for me to post on here. I am an ethical taxidermist (meaning I preserve animals that have died of natural causes) and I specialise in birds. I have recently done a pair of pet budgies for someone, they came out very well and she so very pleased to see her pets preserved as they were in life. Here a photo of them almost finished (: Anyway, I am hoping to make contact with breeders who keep budgies so that if any pass I could buy them to work on. I'd really like to work on more small birds so that in the future I can offer this service to people who have lost a beloved pet, and have the experience to guarantee a good result for them. I can't work on very young birds with pin feathers and they usually fall out, and they need to be in good overall condition. After they pass they need to be put in a freezer as soon as possible to ensure they are kept in good condition to work on. If there is anyone out there that thinks they can help I'd love to hear from you - sarahkeen@live.com Many thanks! Sarah

Hi Sarah, I have my budgie who sadly died on the 15th Jan 2016.I have him in the freezer at present and was wondering how much it would be to have him preserved and you are the only taxidermist I could find on the net in the UK.He was a few months short of 12 years old. Could you give me an approximate cost ?Am I right in thinking that eyes are replaced by beads as sadly they haven't survived too well as it was 3 days before I could freeze him. If you could help please reply ?Many thanks Kate Robbins Birmingham.
