That's the problem helenmat, when you've got budgies, it isn't your home, IT'S THE BUDGIES 🤣🤣🤣

Mine were all out a couple of years ago when a sparrow hawk decided to fly up and down the windows, he thought he was in for a free Budgie lunch, sent mine into a complete panic and i had to rescue them from out of plant pots and all sorts Loki is the alarm bell in my house, flying off to the top of his cage screaming for everyone to hide! Usually it is because a cockatoo has decided to come down for lunch, but it could be anything from a hawk to a leaf dropping. No discrimination. He does seem to have a real phobia about the cockatoos, though, silly boy.

Isn't it strange how they tell us things? My lot, whoever it may be, shouts like hell if someone is on the floor or in trouble, they know I come running to the rescue!

My little guy and I are starting to understand each other. I keep trying to get him to eat fresh veggies and greens. I've been trying different ways to present them to him. On Saturday I grated up some carrots and put them on one side of his feed in the feed cup. I left for my book club meeting and was gone about 3 hours. As soon as I opened door he started screaming at me. When I looked in his feed cup I noticed he hadn't eaten any carrots. Since they had been in his cup for 3 hours, I removed his cup and re-filled it with his seed. He barely let my hand out of his cage before he dive-bombed into it. Poor little guy. I think he was afraid of the carrots and wouldn't eat the seed around them.

Yes i think we are definitely the Minions in our Budgies life's Anything bigger than a Robin and my lot go into silent statue mode, as soon as the threat has gone the chatting starts up again, perhaps we all need a Loki lookout Mine also shout if there is a problem indoors Shirls , usually somebud on the floor or of course if a certain somebud has thrown a mirror or toy over the edge Veg can be very scary, mine prefer the chunks pegged to the cage, these can be very easily surrounded, destroyed and flung everywhere if they pose too much of a threat but they do love their mash of mixed veg and dried egg food in a bowl, you just have to get the colour of the bowl right

Veg must be clipped in the same place in the cage or it is declared to be an alien and must be avoided at all costs according to Eric!

Reminds me once of when my other half when horse riding - big huge horse above 17 hands high and out ran a little stoat whilst they were out on a hack...KILLER STOAT ALERT! Quest (the horse) reared up in fear like an elephant does to a mouse scenario!!!! My two are pretty good as well as Murph is my older bud and does sometimes end up on the floor, Nubbs shouts like a MADMAN to let me know and in I come to stair lift him to safety

For veg it’s dill, basil, carrot, broccoli, sweetcorn mainly. I tried them with a little cauliflower recently. Munchie loved it. Impy likes sweetcorn and Chirpy likes carrot. . skysmum always seem to come up with interesting concoctions for hers.

Spinach, celery leaves, carrot tops, sugar snap peas, millet grass, sprouted seeds, snow peas (which I grow) I have also grown wheatgrass, (which Ben & Max loved)
Hope there is something there that gives you a bit of variety.

I just got a kit from my pet store to sprout seeds for my little Tweetie Pie. Let's see if he'll go for it. BTW, my little boy may turn out to be a little girl. The top of his cere is pale blue and the bottom is a purplish blue. I think he's getting ready to go through his first moult. I'm finding many down like feathers floating around and two wing feathers were on the bottom of his cage this morning.
