The cere doesn't look light enough to me to be a boy. If cere is light, it means a girl right? Just confused with what you have written. I think you meant "to me to be a girl" ??

It was a typo. I meant to say that it doesn't look light enough to be a girl.

This is a borrowed image from google. The bird on the left is male and on the right is female. You can see the difference in blues. The girls is so pale that it's almost white.

But boys ceres only really go as dark in blue as that if they're in breeding condition, they can be a little lighter in blue.
If your bird was a girl and in breeding condition, her cere would go brown and flaky.

I agree, the cere is too blue to be a girl ...... I have to say, though, that my blue boys have taken rather ages to get a true blue cere, whereas Sparky was bright blue from an early age. Due to mutation or individual birds? That's a guess.
