Went to turn off the lights in the aviary and Tweedle was looking a bit fluffed up. I went back half an hour later and he was dead in the food trough. It was so quick, he was chatting with Phoebe an hour earlier. Fly high my baby, you will be missed.

How old was he? but it is comforting to know that it was very quick and hopefully he knew nothing about it..

He was the last of the ones I rescued from a hamster cage, one of 4. His identical twin (tweedle dum and tweedle dee) died the day after I got them, he freaked out and dropped dead at my feet. Then there was Bertie, who was very old, I found him on the floor of the aviary one morning and poor little Titch who had FM who died a few months back. They were the first inhabitants of my indoor aviary. Feels like the end of an era. They all seem to have passed very quickly with little or no signs of ill health. Who knows what was going on inside eh.

Oh gosh what a shock for you! I am sorry for your loss starlingqueen. The one comforting thing is that at least he didn't suffer or have a lingering illness. Thinking of you xxx

I am so sorry to hear about Tweedle. As others have said, at least he went quickly without suffering. I was sorry to read about your other rescued budgies, they are such delicate little things.

So sorry, starlingqueen. The end of an era, indeed. Given his life beforehand, what you know of it, Tweedle certainly enjoyed a much better second half than first. RIP sweet little man.
