A couple of the eggs have black marks on them. I can see only with the webcam but wondered if this is typical. The last possible hatching day is tomorrow and Smokey Jo is getting more active as the days pass. I assume she knows they're not going to hatch now. I keep telling myself infertile eggs are preferable to chicks that dont make it. :-(

It is good, I think, that she is getting restless; you might not have to kick her out of the nestbox to remove it, after all. She might leave it of her own accord.
The black marks ..... just a thought .... might be the earlier eggs going off.

So I cracked them all. 4 had egg yolk all dried up. 2 had formed chicks.
Conclusion. This couple produced fertile eggs so may well do again. Thanks again for the support. xx
