I should say, also, look at getting some paper rope. I just mentioned this on another thread, and realised that I hadn't mentioned it to you. You can get it in different thicknesses, so look for something thin rather than the thicker stuff. Hezz - I think I bought the wrong kind of paper rope... This looks too thick (see photo)

shaggywillow , sorry for not being more explicit in my post. The suggestion I posed will make the thing safe by not having the dangling tassels. They pose the risk of Willow getting her claws caught up in them. Cut the tassels off and that can't happen. By putting a cable tie next to the knot will stop the whole thing unravelling. I hope I am making sense this time. OP - i *think* I understand. I'll have a go tomorrow and will post a pick to show you. You can tell me if I've got it right or not!

Before you go cutting any tassels off. The cable tie is meant to go after the knot. The idea is to keep the strands of the tassel tight together so that will cannot get her claws stuck in them. If you understand that then go ahead. Just don't cut the knot off.

I'm still concerned that she'll get her claw on the actual knot Anyway - do "critique" my first attempt. Just be gentle

Yes you have got the idea although you can cut the tassels a fair bit shorter, leave say 1/2 inch (1cm). Willow is less likely to get her claws stuck the knot. The thing with th long tassel is they tend to get all wrapped up in them when flapping about trying to get loose.

I'll do this with all tassels that come with bird toys. Thanks for your patience with all my questions

i’m so co fused I apologize. So I have one of those whit cuttlebone on their pkayntree and in their cage, is that the same as cuttlebone fish bone? Also so does this mean you all have three blocks? on cuttle bone, one iodine and one mineral? Or Maryann Marlow, you have 2? cuttle fish bone and iodine? so i guess i need to know if the cuttlebone i have is same as cuttle fish bone and should i had a mi real nine and an iodine bone? sorry for all the questions but that is for all the answers ☺️

I don't think you really need a mineral one, I just have the cuttlebone and iodine block.
Cuttlebone and cuttlefish bone, yes it's the same thing. Different shops call them different things.

Great post! Soon I will have some money saved up to give my budgie a cage-makeover. I will be getting good use from this post.
