I was thinking the same thing earlier today. Can't wait to see this little birdie settled in a loving home with lots of company.

Just 29 hours to go now, sooooo excited!!! It's going to be hot tomorrow so want to get him home as soon as possible, out of the heat of the car. I haven't even seen what he looks like yet, but then I suppose he hasn't seen me either!! Do you have a min fan that plugs into the lighter? Just to have near him, obv not in him.

He should be OK with the air conditioning on.

He should be OK with the air conditioning on. Yes that's what we will do. The car will have air conditioning on so the budgie will not feel hot. We will cover him too so that he feels safe. I asked the owner if he wants to sit next to him to talk to him but the owner said he doesn't really talk to him so I'm going to sit next to the budgie and hopefully calm him down.

I have carried a couple of budgies in my car at separate times and they seem to enjoy seeing what's going on. I did start a journey with one covered and she was quite skittish, but when I left the cover off she was fine. I drove 200 miles with Whiskers in a noddy van and he never bothered all the way.

I used to half cover Imzi as sometimes he liked to have a peep and other times when lorries would pass, he would hide. I might do that tomorrow and see how he gets on.

Unfortunately I do not have air conditioning in my car or a fan, just the cold setting on the blow heater and the open windows! I have a little Toyota and although it is an absolutely brilliant car, it has no extras at all, but I wouldn't change it (unless I had loads of money of course). It is so reliable, economical, easy to park and so easy to drive. It won't take us long to get home anyway.

It is so reliable, economical, easy to park and so easy to drive. It won't take us long to get home anyway. Only a 12 min drive from the budgies old home to our meeting place I cannot wait. I'm on here because I cannot sleep. Just full of excited. I am extremely sorry I have not been on to keep up to date with posts and what has been happening. It's been a very busy week for me. Had a rubbish day today as our next door neighbours were taking the wee! They keep parking on my front lawn (a place that we do not even park). They have ruined the grass as they have tyre marks. I have told them off many times but this was the last straw. I have threatened to take it further grrrrr People take advantage of kindness shown, it is really annoying. I have spent the rest of the evening sorting out Imzi and Huckles toys. Many of them are unused because: A) they didn't like it (they are royals!) B) they were scared of it (wusses) C) they never got the chance to play with them (my fault for not using them) Many of the toys are brand new and some of them are old but have never been used. I have kept the ones they have used as they are special to me. I cannot wait to meet lovely Max. He's going to love his new home and he will have friends. Nothing makes me happier than this!

I have only just now managed to read through this thread. What a lucky little birdy this budgie is, to be going to a happy and loving home. It's Sunday here for me, tomorrow I'll be at work in the morning so will have to wait until afternoon to find out how things went!!! Please update asap, Shirls; I am excited for everyone involved.
