They wrapped him in their wings They told him that his time had come He was off to splendid things
He went with them, over the bridge A beautiful sight he saw His friends were all there waiting for him In fields of millet galore
Before you go, they said to him For you we have new wings Now fly to them, they've waited long For you to join their happy throng So this is where my Jo is at A paradise for buds I miss you chap, i always will That great big gap No bud will fill You've been my friend for 15 years For this i have but happy tears. I love you little superbud Now go get that party started xxxxxx JoJo 2001-2016

skysmum, I cannot begin to say how sorry I am; I feel as though I have lost one of my own, and the tears are running down my face. Your words are beautiful - what a tribute to the beautiful Gentleman-Jo. Hugs from this side of the planet, as well. Jo, you might not be aware of how many lives you have touched, from all around the world. Rest in peace, beautiful boy. I always thought of you as Gentleman-Jo. Fly high sweetheart. xxx

Am so so sorry to hear of Jo's passing skysmum you summed up EVERYTHING in such a heartfelt tribute to him. If any budgie could ever wish for a special kind of life it would have been exactly like Jo's with the love, care and devotion of bird and human alike. Whenever time, energy, and love is invested in something the way you invested in Jo, there is bound to be a huge void that follows the loss of that investment xx

Oh skysmum, I am so sorry to read this, this morning. I can only echo exactly what Hezz has said. The feeling is as if I have lost one of my own and the tears are flowing. Jo always had a special place in my heart bless him. You gave him everything a budgie could ever dream of and your tribute to him was lovely. Fly high with your lovely new wings you precious boy.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. Jo was indeed a Gentleman Hezz. He passed quietly away in my hands just as he had lived, no fuss, no bother and with dignity in the early hours of Friday morning following his third stroke this year, i knew he wouldn't recover from this one but he still tried so hard love him. I miss him dreadfully and the house feels so strange without his presence but i also have a quiet acceptance that he had a long and hopefully happy life which ended naturally. Its the end of an era for sure, he was my one in a million.

Never doubt he was happy. He fought through previous strokes and down times to make it to the amazing age he did.
It will be a big void, but I hope the buds coming in for the winter, soon will help a little distraction wise.

Oh skysmum, I'm shocked, saddened and upset at hearing of Jo's passing. I can only repeat what others have said, it's like losing one of my own. I suppose we all knew the day would come but it seemed like he would live forever. He remains a legend and we all know he had a great life and reached a great age. RIP big man.
