Showed the thread to my daughter when she came over. It was my contribution to science thus proving the addictive nature of Boo.

What a wonderful photo essay. I didn't realize Boo was a rescue. The strawberry picture is magazine-worthy - "Better Homes and Budgies". Continuing congrats on the happy home you've cultivated with this tiny mammal at is center. Your mum's elegant, incidentally.

I wish I was young again "Better homes and Budgies" move over Martha Stewart or whoever it is these days. (sorry I'm so out of touch).

Except Boo turned up on my balcony, not the fire escape. And, after checking me out for a bit, he flew onto my head rather than having to be caught. He was pretty determined he wanted a new home. Ever since, we have been inseparable.

Thanks starlingqueen, I hadn't heard of that plant called groundsel. I eventually figured it out.

wow so many beautiful photos of little Boo He is so gorgeous! I really like the fact, that he was blue as baby and got this amazing color as adult budgie! wow what a dream bird! It must be so amazing to have a budgie coming to you, instead of you grabbing one out of a flock in a shop or wherever you want to pick one from. When they come to you, it is probably much easier for them, because they don't know any other budgie and are ready to bond to someone new. Boo is so beautiful can't say that enough!

I couldn't convince her to fly away, as I wasn't set up for a bird. No way, no how.
