I am absolutely devastated I can't stop crying. My beautiful baby Priscilla has gone. I noticed the day I got her she tail bobbed slightly but I thought that was normal for her as she was never any different also after she had a fly around she took she made a couple if breathing noises but because she was like that from the start I thought it was just her..the last couple of days I noticed her poops were different but they seemed to go back to normal ....we had a normal afternoon, I let them out the cage they had playtime on the top of the cage then they had a fly round and then onto there fav perch hanging from the window, then my little yellow Priscilla just fell off the perch onto the ground had a few squeaks then she was gone. I'm so shocked and sad she was only 4 months old. Now what about poor Elvis how will he cope.. what do I need to do with him. I will get another one as soon as possible. What do you think happened to her any advice . I'm devastated r.i.p my beautiful baby girl. I loved her so much. I'm so sad.

How sad for you, I am sorry, really. Why it happened I have no idea. R.I.P. Priscilla. As for getting another bud so soon is your call really. I cannot give you that answer. Sorry.

Im so sorry, RIP sweet girl I think you will find that she was poorly from the start by the sound of it. I would wait before getting another just to make sure Elvis hasn't picked it up and when you do get one please Quarantine in a separate room for at least a month to make sure both are in good health otherwise it could just be a vicious circle of one infecting the other.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Priscilla, I know from my own experience of the shock of losing a young one, they are fragile little things. At least she didn't suffer too much, which is no consolation really. I totally agree with skysmum's comments if you intend to get another one.

How long should I wait before I get another one to make sure Elvis is OK. I have a spare cage it's not a big one though so would that be OK for a temporary quarantine..it will also give me time to spend training him/her before I put them together... I think Elvis is so sad, my noisy little boy is quiet and just sitting doing nothing I've never seen him like this before.. can't believe this has happened I think she had a heart attack as she was flying then wheezed then fell... are budgies OK when they lose there best friend?. I can't believe I've lost my sweet gentle loving baby budgie. She was so special. I'm heartbroken

Tomorrow I'm buying a new cage and getting a new budgie, the sooner quarantine begins the better. I'm keeping the new bird downstairs and keeping Elvis in my bedroom with me.. some people may think I'm being a little hasty but I just think the sooner we start quarantine the better. I'm so worried incase it's something I have done wrong and I'm watching Elvis like a hawk incase his poops change. I know what to expect if this ever happens again and it will be a vet immediately. I always had a feeling Priscilla wasn't right from the first day she came into my life. The tail bobbing was something Elvis didn't have but I thought it was just the way she was now I realise she had underlying things going on. Bless her... Elvis is fine now as long as I have constant music playing, so that's my plan for next couple of days.. he will hear the other budgie downstairs too so hopefully he won't feel lonely. What I find so hard is the fact I can't pick him up and give him a big hug.

I can understand how you are feeling but dont beat yourself up - as Skysmum said it sounded like she was a tad poorly to start with but her legacy is that she has created for you such a love for budgies so much so you want to get another to help Elvis x
Fly high little Priscilla x

I am still so sad. I have had so many animals in my life but none that made me smile as much as she did. .in her very short life we Created a bond I've never had before. She was so special. I feel like I let her down , I feel guilty.
