Edward is the blue lady on the right with her mate James on the left. After James past away Edward began to pine and was calling for James. @bugieed (aka viv) and family were contemplating moving to another country. Being the unselfish people they are they decided to re-home Edward rather than put her through the trauma of travelling between countries. Edward came to stay with me 14th March 2015 and lived with myself, Joey, Bobby and Whiskers until 14th of January 2017. Which may seem a short life for this wonderful lady but she was already 7-8 years old when she came to us. Why did I re-home Edward? Because I could and there was someone who need to re-home their pet because they were going abroad to live. There was room in the cage that was occupied by just two budgies at that time, and the real reason is that these wonderful, endearing creatures deserve a good life. To say there is still three friends left in the cage there is a big part missing. I didn't realise how much she gave to the flock. She couldn't fly and hadn't done from the day she came here, but, she was always around. If I whistled Edward was the one to whistle back. The others do interact especially Whiskers, it's just different. Goodbye my friend Edward.

A wonderful tribute. I like to think she is with her beloved James now.
So she could have been 10 years old.

A lovely tribute OP. She was a beautiful girl, and you had a kind heart taking her in and giving her a loving home.

Beautiful tribute to Edward OP, and what a wonderful happy home she had with you all . You and the flock will find it strange for a while, i always notice a big gap when one leaves us, the dynamics change a bit too.

A very fitting tribute to a sweet little bird and so good to know her original people took the time to find her another home, good for them and good for you.

Thank you for that, OP. I didn't realise that it had been almost two years that she shared with you all. Thankfully she was able to blend into another budgie family and not spend the rest of her life alone, and not to have passed away on her own. RIP beautiful girl.

I'm fine thank you Fran. Although I am realising how much Edward was an important part of the flock. She was always making some sort of noise, keeping the others busy. Because she couldn't fly she would climb around the bars which meant one of the others had to move out of the way. Bobby is slowly taking her place, but it is different. We'll all get used to it.
