Their eggs are really tiny though anyway aren't they. I remember seeing pics of them and thinking "how can a budgie come out of that!!" that's exactly what i though when i saw Holly's egg . I had to search through (millions) of old pics to find her last eggs.

just introduced Mak back in to allow him to mate with Holly, because i don't want infertile eggs, it worked but not quite to plan, considering Holly fell to the floor lol. They got "back on the horse" though so to speak.

I put Mak back in this morning to let them "get jiggy" ,bet i left him in a bit longer than normal ,because i had put in some moist eggfood and to my surprise he was eating it, something of which holly doesn't do often, and ofcourse after eating something Mak goes straight to Holly to feed her. Anyway to the better more exciting news, Mak about 5 or 10 minutes went into the box with Holly, and i heard a strange cracking/pecking sort of noise, my mother was in the room and we both thought the same thing. but luckily after Holly popped out of the nestbox with Mak in hot pursuit, i checked the box to find egg number 2 . Iv'e removed him again now to give Holly a little peace.

if they have mated successfully...... theres no need to keep putting him back in ...she will be fertile.... judging by the length and amount of times they have done it, i certainly hope they have done it successfully lol. I think i still might keep putting him in now and again, as Holly has a habit of staying in the box too long (Barrie thinks this could be why the Male squabbles with her in the box), and then when she does come out, she doesn't always feed herself, and very often it's with seed as oppose to eggfood, where as Mak tends to eat eggfood and then go and feed her straight away.

just found that Holly has moved the eggs that got moved in their little squabble earlier ,back into the concave circle, they have no cracks so im hoping they'll still hatch. Just had a small chuckle at Sky, adopting the most strange position, her body half way out the nestbox entrance, sitting whilst Tazz groomed her, cute to watch.

The hens know how to move the eggs so it would be fine.
