Have decided to try and get creative with our birds breeding, instead of just letting them go for it in open aviary. Currently have 2 breeding pair that we let have 2 clutches a year and then rest. They have produced some interesting colours, so the 2nd clutch this year we decided to keep one of the more interesting ones. Okay groundwork laid, now for gist of this query. Trying to establish what minimum size breeding cage I would need for each breeding pair and also minimum size nest box. I am recently retired and wish to try and build cage and box myself. At the moment these cages would probably go inside the trap area of existing aviary which measures 1900mm wide X 1850 high X 950mm deep. The trap itself is approximately 550 wide. I am sure I have supplied enough info to show what I want to do so will leave in capable hands of the forum now.
