My friend is very upset. She has recently bought her 14 year old so a budgie after he met mine and was enamoured. They went out the next day and bought Charlie, a beautiful crested blue fella. Her son was loving him, and getting him games. Charlie found a small bathroom wndow ajar and escaped on Sunday morning. It's so easy to do. They haven't seen any sign of him since. Naturally they are very upset. If anyone lives nearby, keep an eye out and spread the news. Any goods ideas welcomed?

My thoughts are for the budgie, they stand little chance of survival when bred in captivity. I'm afraid your friend and her son have learnt a hard lesson the hard way. It is an easy thing to do, like leaving a window/door ajar even for just a moment. I hope you do hear some good news, one never knows. Good luck.

Contact any vets that are local in case someone handed him in. Perhaps post your photo and message on facebook and get people to share it. Report the lost bird on www.parrotalert.com/
