Hi! Sophie has had a couple of molts recently, and I've only had her for a few months, but every molt brings more and more green feathers. Also, her yellow feathers are very light and pale, but some of them are growing in MUCH darker/brighter. I was wondering, what is her color classification, and how much can a budgie's color change? the green feathers are kinda hard to see in the second photo...

Sophie is beautiful, how old is she?
I know that with the blue birds, sometimes their yellowness gets brighter as they get older.
She looks like some kind of pied to me, but I am not sure of her classification.

well I got her from a pet store about 2 1/2 months ago, so I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing 6 months old or so? the bars on her forehead are almost gone but not quite.

This does happen with the yellow-faces. She may darken up a little more in the next six months, but once she is fully mature, these will be her true colours. She is a real mix; it does look like she is a pied; she also looks like a spangle, maybe a dilute as well. She is a bit complicated for my inexpert eye. She is very interesting ... and pretty.

Maybe yellowface two reccesive pied? She looks pretty young to me and its normal for yellowface two! They are born blue and turn greener with each molt.
