I think i can safely say Bailey is the bravest bud i have now, his errrrrr, natural curiosity ( nosey ) nature has put him up there as the first to investigate every time. He always comes over when i go in to frisk me or see what im up to and seems to think if im doing it or holding it, it's ok . George was hacked off M, he always has a tantrum when he has to go away to let Bumble and Evie out, i swear he stamps his foot too . I find three layers makes them use the whole of the cage Helen, i'm trialling the stainless bowls, they have both fed from them but they take so much seed so i will see how that goes. Im sure some adjustments will be made here and there but for now B and G are snuggled up in bed and seem quite content, beak crunching

I wonder where he got his nosey-ness from.... he used to be beak to window here.
The BG pad - looking good.

Yes that was my conclusion with the coop cups, beautiful but just too big. They also take up quite a bit of space.

I found the coop cups were being used for the wrong application. More than one bud would sit on the rim facing the wrong way. That wasted quite a lot of seed.

OP that too. I also found that they were big enough to dig in and the seed went everywhere!

Thankfully these boys are quite civilised when it comes to dining etiquette, they take what they want and leave, the shuck stays on the top, i can honestly say there is barley a seed in the cage today, because they are large cups it stays over the bowl Now if it was Bertie or the girls it would have been dug out or sat in , so far so good . I have however had to make sure there is nothing directly above the dishes for them to sit on, can't have poop in bowls, this does restrict things a little, i prefer food dishes to be higher, early days.

Manufacturers should consult bird owners before making these things. I have had trouble finding pots that Loki can't bull-doze everything over the sides looking for a particular tasty looking grain. And, like you say, most seed pots are huge for budgies. My budgies do seem to have decent table manners as well; they eat without fighting, no elbow or wing jabbing, and their food does seem to stay on their "plate" pretty well. Loki on the other hand ............

My two just squabble over food as they are convinced that one has got better than the other when in fact the two bowls contain exactly the same thing and the greens pegged up are also exactly the same. You can’t tell them though. Ernie will walk through his seed bowl to get to Eric’s and it flies everywhere! Silly sausages
