Baby started out an ultra soft yellow and now that she is almost a yeah old she has darkened...she has a patch of colour on her chest that started out a super soft grey and a has now darkened to an almost blue grey. Curious what everyone sees in her. Also our new girl Joy. Gotta figure our how to add pictures from my phone. Thank you

If it is the yellow-faced you are referring to, this is normal. Darkening of colour does happen with most in their first year, but the yellow-faces seem to show it up more, possibly due to the yellow suffusing through the rest of the body colour as well. Your recessive pied is a boy.

Thankyou for the responses. I thought the pied was a girl the cere has mostly been a purpleish. I will try to get a close up picture tomorrow. That little one is still fairly young too.
in the Yellowface though(Baby is her name), the Grey coloring she has, is that still a blue series base?

Sorry, both birds are recessive pieds, the yellow faced Grey hen is a white series base, the sky blue rec pied is the one I was referring to as a boy.

Guess 'she' isnt getting a boyfriend down the road then lol and it makes sense why Baby is harassing 'her' Baby is in breeding condition but is separated from the other budgies because she was our very first hand fed baby and my daughter doesn't want her to breed.
