Hello and welcome!
Yes he does look like an opaline green spangle, maybe clearflight too.
We'll see what others think as I am not an expert.
What are you giving him to eat? I was just trying to workout what was in his seed pot, I can only see oats.

He came with clipped wings as you might be able to tell but I'll be leaving these be when he moults. It is a food called tidymix- it contains a mix of pre hulled seeds and other bits- millet, safflower, barley, wheat, sunflower, lentils, dates, banana chips and several more. He seems to really like it, maybe too much as he sits in his food bowl at times but is not touching his veggies sadly.

Agree, Marianne - clearwing opaline spangle. Looks like he could be an olive, or grey green.

I'm not sure about some of the things in his seed mix, dried fruit is quite high in sugar for a budgie.
Normally they have a mix of millet (red yellow and white), canary seed and groats.
Sunflower seeds are quite high in fat too.
Your budgie doesn't even have to dehusk his seed because it comes pre-hulled.

Budgies don't need fruit, although some will eat it because their humans do (mine do like apple), they need their greens and vegetables much more.

The Tidymix brand was recommended on another forum as a high quality mix as I was told to stay away from mixes containing high millet contents.... it is expensive though so if it is no good I am open to changing! Have you heard of bucktons budgie food? This is slightly cheaper with more millet content, I have started mixing it in with his food barrel. Could you recommend any other UK brands?

I am trying to get him to eat his vegetables but he has so far not touched them I have tried mixing them into his seed bowl but he got round them. I also tried presenting him with some parsley by hand and he showed interest but just pecked, will try again now he is stepping onto my finger though. Any recommendations? I've seen someone suggest mushing up the veg and putting it on a plate at the bottom of the cage so he walks through it. May try that.

Make sure that you use half and half of both seed mixes for a while to slowly change over and make sure he's eating the new seed.
