Lemon may try it and introduce the others to green. Now that would be good!

The others don't much think the grass is a food source either That surprises me, as they are keen to eat the likes of dill and basil.

Oh here's a chance to get lemon used to greens before the others will persuade her that the grass and other greens are not great!
I found that the younger they are, they try new things. Imzi decided certain foods he wouldn't like so Huckleberry also didn't like them even though he's never tried it!
Random for me to say this but the vet checked if Lemon was chipped, I had no idea they gave super tiny microchips now. What a great idea, had it been around Imzi and huckleberrys time, I definitely would have microchipped them.

I'm surprised they even checked; maybe chips have gotten small enough to be used on budgies, but I was under the impression that anything less than a cockatiel was too small. I did find this, but not sure how old it is: Can all birds be microchipped? Any bird weighing 100g or more can be microchipped eg rainbow lorikeets and larger. Smaller birds can also be done but individual cases need to be discussed with your veterinarian. From here: www.birdvet.com.au/exotics%20care/birdcare/Bird%20Facts%2038%20microchipping%20birds.htm

It doesn't cause any distress or discomfort apart from insertion and it doesn't have any impact in their flying and wellbeing so for me it's a great idea. If I had a budgie, I would definitely do this. I've had nightmares of losing my budgies to the wild and falling into the wrong hands, I'm super lucky it's never happened despite how unfortunate my budgies were with their illnesses. Sorry for changing the topic, just thought it was interesting :-)

It is interesting. Technology changes so quickly, so we shouldn't be surprised, I suppose. I have to take the dog for his yearly vac's in the next week or so; I will ask .... of course that relies on me remembering!
