There are a lot of feathers missing there but the photos are not focused enough to see much else. Are you trying to breed? Has this only happened since you added the nest box, or have they always had one? I do think you need to address the reason for her plucking her feathers before trying to breed with her. It is possible that she is pulling her feathers to line the box.

Thanks for the reply. There is a nest box n she sits in it many times a day. Her vent is mostly visible when she is scratching it . N thats when i took photos. If she is sitting normalky then ypu dont see the red vent part that much. If she wants to breed i do not mind.

What Hezz is saying is, do not breed your bird if you think she is unwell or her vent is not normal. If she is pulling her feathers out you should find out why.

Exactly, helenmat; thank you. Before breeding, your budgies should be given the best diet possible - high protein and calcium - for optimum egg laying and to reduce the strain on your hen. She should be in peak health, with no other possible problems that you are aware of. This little hen does have a potential problem, and you really need to discover why her vent is bald, possibly inflamed, before breeding is contemplated. I say that only for your hen's health, as I am sure you wouldn't want to lose her because she started to lay when not in peak condition. If you are not concerned about breeding, take out the box and they will be fine without it. Clearer photos are needed to be able to determine whether her vent is inflamed or not.

Hello all,
so I would like to post an update. I have had my budgie examined by an Vet. It was a general Vet and so I did not expect too much from it. The Avian Vet is unfortunately not near by so I decided to get first opinion from a Vet to decide the next course of action.
So she examined her and said it is due to FAT. Yes she has grown FAT on lower part of body as can be seen in the photos and as well under her wings. Both the places she has very little hair. The question comes then as to why. The food has been as usual, little ,more to tell you the truth but its same for all the rest of the budgies. But I know what is the problem maybe. She is the laziest of all. She does not (like to) move much. She sits in a corner of the age relaxing. Not that she is ill but she has been that way right from start. When she wishes to move she moves very aggressively. Next course of action will be I would search this website / google for a remedy. It does not atleast now look like a life threatening problem to me but care should be taken. Immediate search shown me Apple cider Vinegar as one treatment. But I need to read more. If you guys can suggest that would be great. I shall post update later when I have one. Thanks so far for your valuable suggestions. Great community!!
Regards

It's quite common for especially females to have fatty lumps. One of my budgies has the small beginnings of one. Thankfully, as you say it's not life threatening. I do believe it's because the females are not usually as active as the males. Although of course there are exceptions to this, my other hen is very active and a very good flier.
So more exercise would help her.

If she's not in full health then it's not wise for her to breed. How old is she anyway?
