The space is great, plenty of room to fly, the only thing I might change is the perches for more natural branches. The dowels are not as good for budgies feet as they donβt alter position very much. Maybe add a few more. Also please take care with the tassels on the spiral perch. My parents bird lost a toe by getting tangled in the strings. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Looks great. But how big would you say the gap on the right side of the door is? Hopefully not big enough for a budgie to get through?

If you mean the angled bit Marianne Marlow to the right top I think its just in shadow and is filled in. I thought the same.

Lovely little aviary. Very clean . Have you used sand on the floor? Would be better I think with newspaper, then duct tape it down to make a removable sheet. Makes cleaning so much easier, and seeing as the aviary is waterproof it would get wet which is a bonus .

More perches, toys, swings etc, things to chew on. Budgies need to be kept busy or they will become destructive.

Just making sure, so sorry if this might sound a bit patronising, but is all the timber you used on your little budgie "house" safe to be chewed on? And watch for when they do chew on it - holes can appear very, very quickly. They might not touch it for months, years even and then within a matter of a couple of hours .... total destruction! Especially if Ms Wilma decides she wants to raise little Pebbles.
