I want to make sure I choose the right cage before we get our budgie...It’s difficult because none of the pet shops near to me have any in stock ,with the exception of one and they have the Vision cage. I like the size of the medium one and the clear bottom that will keep the seed and feathers in, but the cage itself seems flimsy and a lot of reviews say it rattles a lot as the budgie climbs around. The other cage I quite like ( but can’t look at one) is the Liberta Arizona. I just wondered if anyone had one? I don’t like the stand, but at least it looks stable........So can anyone advise please.....or can you recommend any other cage perhaps?

I had a vision cage but my budgie didn’t like the see through floor as he probably felt unsafe so would never go to the bottom to play with toys. I got him a Ferplast Canto and then a Ferplast Piano 6 which are nice cages and he would play on the floor in those . I know some people like the Hamberley but I don’t know about that one or the Arizona but I’m sure others on here will respond later.

Just to set the scene, ladybird, this would be the cage that you wish to travel with, continuing on from your other thread? So it needs to be able to fit into your car? Do you have room for a larger cage at the mobile home? The Hamberleys are great cages, but not exactly something you are going to be carrying anywhere. Something else to consider, especially as you will moving and carrying this cage quite a lot. I would NOT get a cage that has the detachable bottom, which is what it looks like the Liberta Arizona has. Over time, and with extra moving around, the clips that hold these two together loosen, break, come undone, and you seriously run the risk of the bottom falling off and you loosing your bird when carrying to and from. You would be better off looking at something called a flight cage ... along these lines (sorry, it is a Aussie link, but you will get the picture). They also seem a bit flimsy, but I have had one this size and another bigger one for years with no issues at all. They are no different now to when I first got them and I do move them around quite a lot, especially the smaller one, same size as in the link. I have attached handles to the sides rather than use the one single handle at the top of the cage. www.petstock.com.au/product/bird/flight-bird-cage-211-61x40-5x43cm/65220Food for thought, anyway.

Thank you and yes I do see your point about the cage coming apart....definitely food for thought and I will look into those cages. Yes we have a big mobile home, so birdie will have lots of space to fly around.
