Today I let Charlie aged seven weeks out of his cage. I closed the blinds and covered the mirror etc. He came out on my finger, had a good look around and the flew round the room before landing on the ceiling light fitting!.....I had some millet in my hand and it did look as though he wanted to fly down to my finger, but just didn’t have the courage.....Hubby used the steps and got him on his finger and passed him to me.....I then walked over and popped him back into his cage....... Anything I could have done better??

Sounds brilliant to me!! Well done you and Hubby. Very lucky too, as Charlie gets bolder he may not be so easy to get back!!

It’s great he is happy to use fingers to help him. He’ll get his bearings soon

Maybe you could have got hubby to hold the steps while you got Charlie off the light fitting.

Well done to you both. I'll bet Charlie loved stretching those wings.

That's sounds like a very successful first outing & I don't think you could have done anything better!
It reminds me of my Bezukhov's first outing. He flew around & landed to rest on the curtain pole. I stood on the chair to get him down & he, amazingly, stepped up. And even more amazingly, stayed on my finger until I got down off the chair & took him to the cage, where he went in to tell Cagney about his adventure!
