Since yesterday, on the web address box at the top of the screen, the phrase, “Not Secure” is showing. Does anyone else have this & is it something to be concerned about? I’ve never seen it anywhere before.

I know that OP asked this question a while ago, but I can't find his post. I think that proboards help explained it as something like - the images are hosted elsewhere and that means that the website can't display the secure notification, but none of our data would be compromised. OP had PM'd me the question which is why I couldn't find it. Here is proboards help's reply. "When your browser refers to "secure sockets" what they mean is a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) which encrypts data between your web browser and the ProBoards servers. Pages with SSL have https:// before the forum address instead of the standard http://. In fact the pages which transmit sensitive data (registration, login, purchase pages) are encrypted on ProBoards. It's true that other pages are not encrypted and indeed there are plans in the works to make all pages https://."

A good explanation Marianne Marlow. The reason I askd the question was I wanted to know if other members could read the PM's. Starrymist's question was a litle different and your answer explains it admirably. Sorry for typos I can hardly see the keyboard let alone what's on the screen.
