OP, I'm not sure you saw my post, but is there software that could read out the forum posts for you?
What about that old girl Alexa, doesn't she have any useful skills that could help?

What about that old girl Alexa, doesn't she have any useful skills that could help? Just adding to this I worked with a guy who had software that would read all his emails out and audio type what he dictated. A really useful piece of software for him that allowed him to continue his job. Unfortunately I don't know what it was called, or how much it cost.

Thank you for mthe large type Marianne. I did manage to read it, but to describe what I see: if you put the page at the bottom of a puddle and chuck a stone into the puddle. I magine what it would look like. Unfortunately alexa doesn't help in any way. clt80 you put the fear of god in mme with your post. You mentioned the word cost. I am a Yorkshireman, shot arms and deep pockets. The software myou speak of will be written for the Windows operating system. I have Linux. There is software that can read text and some that will type it. Both of them are about as good as I am. So frustrating to use. Thank you for your thoughts, but I have resigned myself to my life from now on. It hhas just taken me 10 minutes to type this post and try and correct all the typoos, and there was some.

I’m so sorry OP. I was wondering, have you been in touch with the RNIB or any other organisations? I’m sure there must be some way to enable you to use the internet in a way that works for you, whether it’s software or something else? Many Visually impaired people manage to hold down jobs working with computers. I have tried speech software myself & I know it can be annoying but I also think there may be other options that are probably better... I’ve attached a couple of websites below to save you searching, the RNIB & a Low Vision resource guide. Obviously I have no idea if either will be of any help & you’ve probably searched in the past & found nothing suitable for your needs. But I thought it’s better to post them than not. We all love having you on the forum & would miss you if you weren’t here! www.rnib.org.uk/www.humanware.com/Site/Files/a/06cc20404d351cbaa2520fcd0d5adc3/6a6b222a03cb47308a051fb3119e8525/LIVING_WITH_LOW_VISION-Accessible.pdf(Ps I don’t know how to make this big, sorry)

Thank you starrymist, I have contacts with in RNIB as I am registered as partially sited. It has suddenly got much worse so that I find it very difficult to use tyhe computer. I have used or ti=ried to use bothb speaking and typing software and found it just pkains frustrating. I do understand people do work that have impaired vision but it does depend on how the vision is impaired. Mine just changes overnight literaly. So I can't get used to anything yet. Thank you for your thouhgts an suggestions. I really mean that.

I’m sorry OP. It must be so distressing not knowing how your eyes will change. I sincerely hope that things settle soon for you & that you can adjust as well as possible. Thinking of you

Ive not been around much of late OP so i'm only just catching up with things. I'm so sorry your eyes have deteriorated again . I know exactly where you are at with this. My mum is the same and finding tasks around the home more difficult now as well. She can read very large print if it's on a dark background. She finds things very frustrating, as you do. I'm going to get her some blue acetate, my grandaughter is dyslexic and using this helps to stabilise the words, stops them from dancing all over the place. Certainly worth a try but in your and mums case would only work on very large print i know.
Thoughts are with you always OP xx
