Bless him. krystal, can I advise that you remove the purple fluffy corner thing in his cage? I don't know whether you are aware but tThis sort of thing can cause crop impaction if he starts to nibble on it, which at the least may leave you with a hefty vet bill, but at worst can be fatal.

Thanks so much for letting me know!!! I feel lucky he hasn't shown interest in chewing anything yet then, I'll get it out of there. I just thought it was something warm and snuggly, I hadn't thought of the chewing aspect.

Thank you. Some people take offence when you bring hazards to their attention. Budgies are not a snuggly bird - if the room is warm enough for you, Sky will be fine, also. It is best not to supply budgies with anything that can be seen as somewhere warm and dark.

Now I have to ask......What happens if they have someplace warm and dark?
The purple fluffy thing has been removed, and now he seems to like that particular perch more! I'll have to swap it out for a better one, that is a plastic perch that came with the Vision cage. He also has a wooden swing, 2 natural wood perches, and a rope perch.

Ah, he didn't like his purple thingy. At least he won't be missing it too much. Get him some natural branches for perches rather than those plastic and dowel perches that come with all cages. Sorry, I was thinking more of budgie hens, which Sky is not regarding warm dark places being construed, or made into nests.
