Hi girls can you tell me if Jo has scaly face She is going through a really bad moult and in a bit of a state. I have invermectin 0.1% in, should I treat it? I need to know quite quickly. Thanks Sue. Xx. It's very flakey and discoloured.

From your photo I can't work out if it's the start of scalyface or not.
I'd treat Jo and Pip with ivermectin 0.1% anyway to be safe.
You can put a tiny bit of vaseline on just the beak, perhaps whatever it is will come off if it's dirt.

She's being a bit of a nightmare today. Husband had to go out and I was with Eve for about 3 hours, she had her bottle and then demanded another one an hour and a half later. She wouldn't let me put her in her Moses basket, just kept screaming. So I sat with her for hours, couldn't even go to the loo! Thankfully he's home now and can take over.

I know those days. Perhaps she's not liking the Moses basket now she's getting bigger, my grand daughter did the same so we put her in a cot and she was better. I always say you can't cuddle them enough, as they grow so quickly. She's a little cutie😘

Back to Jo, I don't know how she might have gotten scaly mites, but if this was any other random bird, I would suggest you treat her for them as it sure does look suspicious to me. Any outside time when they might have been visited by a wild bird, perhaps? Where to put the drop, I suggest back of the neck, rather than further down between the wings. They can preen themselves that far down; at the back of the neck they cannot reach.

Thanks Hezz, no she hasn't been outside at all, and nothing has come in, even flies are not allowed in

Probably not scaly. But I'd still treat both her and Pip for peace of mind.
