I promise I won't make threads for every milestone, but I was both excited AND got pictures so I couldn't resist! The addictive power of millet wins again!! He put both feet on me, and I was able to move my arm around a bit in the cage (my poor arm is sore from all this holding it up!)

He is coming along wonderfully. krystal, now that he is doing almost anything for millet, can I suggest that you be conscience of how much you allow him to have? Try pulling off one of the bobbles and holding onto that, or if he refuses to acknowledge such a trifling amount, have a larger piece like you have in your photos, but have that one bobble to give him when he does what you want otherwise it is very possible for him to fill up on millet and not want to eat anything else. You don't want him to become an addict for millet.

Forgot to say, you have the same cage as me . How do you like it? I find it to be the easiest to clean. And I love all the horizontal bars, the ones in the stores here have mostly vertical.

You don't want him to become an addict for millet. After his big feast today with his double foot perch, I was getting worried about that! So far the sprig that's in the picture has been what I've been using all week (the rest is in the freezer), but training is starting to get a bit more serious so I definitely want to keep the millet amount under control. And, now that my hand is becoming a little less scary, a smaller piece should work well!

I like the cage crystal, like you say easy to clean out. I have dust free bird chippings under the bar at the bottom and this keeps the cage looking clean too. I like the water and feeding dishes at the bottom and Charlie like to look out of the clear base....

I'm struggling to get my budgie on my finger, when I first got her (couple weeks ago now) as soon as I out my hand in the cage she'd go crazy flapping and flying around. Now I've got where I can put my hand in front of her slowly, but that's only sometimes. She won't eat anything but her seed, not even millet so I'm stuck as to how to tempt her onto my finger. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? I'm a newby myself, but Sky also wouldn't eat millet at first, I'm wondering if he had never seen it before? I put some millet in his treat dish and he eventually went over and tried it, and that's when the millet addiction began, and he loves it so much he's finally willing to perch on my finger in order to get it!

I shall try break some up into her food bowl then, she won't eat any other foods either, I've tried everything, carrot, apple, spring green, broccoli, Spinach and romaine lettuce oh and carrot tops but not interested at all.

Persevere with the veggies, she will surprise you one day. You can either grate it up small and serve it in a little dish, or some budgies like a bigger chunk through the bars to crunch on - something like carrot or celery. It is obviously something new to her, so she will need to get used to it being there and nibble it one day. Lovely pictures of a very beautiful lady. Can I ask, is that a rough perch she is sitting on? Rough thinks are very bad for budgies delicate feet. A varied selection of wooden branches are so much better, different widths and sizes. Hope you didn't mind me mentioning this.
