Hi,
I have a budgie who is less than a year old, the past week or so I have noticed he was trembling a bit which has increased. He is eating and alert and when he's playing he does it less, when resting it is quite apparent and has got quite significant.
He is currently going through a moult and has lots of pin feathers. I have taken him to an avian vet and she couldn't find anything wrong with him and because he was alert and happy could make no suggestions other than maybe his new feathers were bothering him and that maybe he might be lonely.
He does have lots of toys which I change around but he's quite uninterested in them, he has interaction with my son when he's home. We do have another budgie in the house, who is not really interested in him and is far more interactive with his toys and flying about, they have always had different personalities and I'm wondering is he stressed and why would this be now after having him 6 months would this happen? I am thinking about getting him a friend but don't want to if its because of some illness.
Any thoughts on what this could be would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry I can't help. It is really quiet on here today but someone will come on sometime in the day and help.

Can you post a photo of your bud, please? Perhaps a video of his trembling as well, if possible. I have no clue what it might be all about, but sometimes birds will seem to be trembling when they are keen to come out of their cage. Does he seem to be afraid of you, your household, other pets etc. Is it possible that he has been given a fright/attacked or something similar??

Hi, he does do it when he's out of his cage, more when he's quiet. However, it is mainly when he is in his cage and it's not when he wants to come out as I wondered if it was stress and boredom so would try to get him to come out but he doesn't always want to. He is quite quiet in his cage and doesn't want to interact with his toys much, I change them around and swap them to give him some variety. When he's animated he seems fine. It is very bizarre, I will try and work out how to upload a video. Thanks

It does sound odd. Best bet for videos is to upload them to YouTube first and then post the link.
