I love this forum, I haven't been on here since about January until Sunday when I posted about Ernie's passing. Not only did no one think bad of me for being away so long, I was welcomed with open arms and comforted all in one go. The wonderful thing about this forum is the fact that we are all like minded people who just love their buds and know that other members know how we feel and how emotional we get when something goes wrong or our buds get ill. Something that not many other people understand. I have being going through some bad times at work and have avoided social media in all its forms including the forum. Since posting on Sunday I have looked every day and can feel myself getting involved in the stories and tales from other members all over again. I have also found it very comforting to know you are there. I just wanted to say thank you for being there! Thank you to Marianne Marlow and Hezz for all you do, you should be very proud.

I would like to second that.... Would like to add that I was probably one of those people who thought a budgie was just a bird that you looked after but never got really attached too. We have owned budgies in the past and loved them, but had busy lives...work, kids etc.... Kids have long since 'flown' the nest, and we don’t work now, and last year we lost out beloved little dog of 12......I was distraught and vowed to have no more pets.....Months later I thought I will just have a budgie, it will be a bit of company...Well we got Charlie ( after a lot of excellent advise on the forum) and once again I have a little friend to love......he has changed our lives.......He is not just a budgie! He is part of our lives....and I am smitten......and I know if I need advise , I just have to come here and ask......So a big thank you from me too......plus Charlie 👍🏻

Agree about the forum and it's like a pair of soft comfy slippers, you put them on and you feel at home. So glad you are back Helenmat. You take every bit of information you can get and hope it helps and you never feel you have asked silly questions. There is always someone who can help and trust.
As Helenmat says, Thank you Marianne and Hezz for all your hard work.

Thank you so much. I'm glad the forum is helpful for you all I'm so sorry for your recent losses helenmat and suesbird I, and many others here feel that when someones budgie passes, that we have lost one of our own as we all know what the grief feels like. I hope that Eric and Pip will be okay.

I would like to add my thanks too. When I first got Bailey I was so rusty on the bud front. You all helped on here, and obviously I don’t have Bails living with me, but I still feel like I belong and still love updates - obviously some very very sad, on everyone’s buds.
I’m so busy at work and new issues on the flat, so I might not reply on lots of posts, but do read things.
So, thank you all, and Marianne and Hezz for keeping it going

I too have had a rough year Helen and haven't been around much. Sometimes life just gets in the way and you have to prioritise. One thing for sure is that we are always welcomed when we return, like sue said, it's like a pair of comfy slippers and an understanding extended family. Like now, i have a couple of free hours so it's a cuppa and a mooch, it takes my head to a different place Long live the forum, and thankyou Marianne and Hezz from me

I would have been completely lost without the forum and you have all helped me so much. I was away for even longer than Helen and you were so lovely and kind and supportive when I came back after Criswell died and I thank you for it. I'm really pleased to have met you all as you are such nice, kind, knowledgeable and helpful people. And my budgies would thank you too if they could.

Just one of the good things about this forum is that you don't have to be here for weeks, but you know the forum is here if you need help or advice. We all contribute when we can. It's a brilliant 'family' to belong to. So thanks to Marianne and Hezz from me too. Also ffiscool, I'm so glad you've stayed with us despite not actually having a budgie. But your memories of owning the Bailes are great to be reminded of, and of course all the updates from skysmum!

Thank you all (for all your kind words), from me as well. I'm having internet problems at the moment so will only be on sporadically for possibly the next week, or it might only be days. I'm checking in at the local library when I can. Marianne Marlow, you can always message me if there is something I might be able to help with. Take care, everyone. xx
