I've had my budgies for about a week and a half now. Three days ago I started feeding soaked and sprouted seeds, which everyone loves. Now one of the hens seems to have loose stool. Last night her vent was pretty wet. I'm stopping the sprouts for now until her systems straightens out. When I start offering them again, how much should they get? I have three birds. Anything I can give her to help? I need to make some brown rice, maybe sprinkle a little probiotic on that?

You can bathe her vent with tepid water and pat dry if she will let you. I would just feed seed for a couple of days until stools are normal then maybe limit the sprouts to every other day and just a small sprig.

I'm with helenmat - leave the fresh food for a few days after her stools have consolidated. Make sure all the sprouts are super- fresh. It is possible that this hen has been slightly more sensitive to food being not quite so fresh. Sprouts can be wonderful as a food, but you really need to be vigilant as to how fresh they are, and making sure there is no possibility of mould growing.

I agree. Stop the fresh food for her until her droppings clear up.
