Hi all, We have an approx 9 month old budgie. When we bought him the breader had trimmed his wing and tail feathers. The problem is it is now 6 months later and none of them have started growing back and now the colour is leaching out of his feathers. Forest was a bright beautiful yellow all over and now he is a mottle of yellow and white. It looks like he is turning into an albino. Has anyone got any ideas why?? We feed him seed and millet and try to give him fruit and veg regularly but he will only eat the seed and millet. He also loves his cuttle bone. Any advice appreciated.

Photos are required for sure.
Regarding the clipped wing feathers, it will take a full 12 months before these are replaced. You should find that he starts to moult out some from any moult from now on. In fact those first ones might even take a while longer, but much depends on the heaviness of his moults as well. Every cut feather that you find on the floor or in his cage is a cause for celebration - he will be that one feather closer to being able to fly!
Is he moulting now, by any chance? Budgies losing down feathers can seem to be a mottled white with their base body colour.
